I Have a Special Annoucement

People who have been following my blog know that I have a non-award award show called The Omies. It is to highlight the performances that were overlooked during the years. This year is quite different.

It pains me to say this, but I have decided to cancel the Omies for this year. It was my fault mainly because I used a sub-par poll system that fucked everything up. Another contributing factor to this decision was that only two people cast votes. Thank you to the twos of you that actually voted. It would not be fair to have multiple ties in every category. This is my way of "awarding" all of the nominees.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Hopefully, Polldaddy wouldn't be a dick charging an arm and a leg to use their service.

  1. I meant to vote but didn't see enough movies by the deadline. Greta Gerwig would've been a definite, and we just saw Mud Thursday night, so now I'd also include Ray McKinnon. So sorry! Next year...

  2. I was very limited but catch to see some movies. I have to say this year was a very tight year with a lot of good movies but definitely the campaign machine did the job by eclipsing all.I don't mean "The Wolf of Wall Street" is a bad movie but it's the good example how influences in the business push for a work that is not as good as others. It's a shame the so called rules made foreign movies like Gloria (Chile) were not considered for this year run. Greta Gerwig (Frances Ha), Will Forte (Nebraska) and Emma Thompson (Saving Mr. Banks) are two of many examples of performances omitted by the Academy. And God knows if the members of the Academy gives Jennifer Lawrence the award for BSA in a performance though good is very close to the one of her winning last year.
