Weekly Rewind

This weekly rewind is going to be combing two weeks of movie watching. The holidays and moving. It's craziness around here. Buckle up, buttercup.

The Northman (rewatch): I haven't seen the movie since the beginning of the year. I did not know that this story was the basis of Hamlet. I still enjoyed it. Bloody, muscley men naked. Yep. 9/10

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special: After a sleepless night, I watch this special. Zoe Saldana was probably busy with filming five Avatar sequels. I liked the special even though Chris Pratt is getting on my last nerves. 7/10

Cannibal Holocaust: This is supposed to be the most controversial movie ever. This movie is disgusting to watch. It is very bad. The acting was awful. The shock factor wore off, then the movie became a boring slog. 2/10

Avatar (rewatch): I have not seen this movie since I saw it in theaters. I think I was bamboozled with the visuals and seeing it in 3D. The story is not great. Imperialism and a White Savior story line is not a good look. 7/10

Moulin Rouge! (rewatch): Seeing that Elvis is getting a lot of Best Picture nominations, I wanted the revisit this movie to see if I had rose colored glasses on. Turns out that I did not. I love the movie. Does it have problems? Yes. Having the actor sing live. Mistake. The last act of the movie took a turn. 8/10

Matteo Lane: The Advice Special: It was a nice fluffy comedy special on Lane's YouTube channel. We never knew what happened to that first guy who having sex with his married super. Oh, well. 7/10

Glass Onion (rewatch): Watching the movie on Netflix. I love it as much as I did in the theater. 10/10

Empire of Light: I could not care less about a movie so much as this. Don't fuck your co-workers. 4/10

The Holiday Sitter: This is a cute Christmas movie with gay leads. There is some cringe dialogue here, but it was nice to see that the gays were not treated like zoo animals. 7/10

Must Love Christmas: Here is the typical Christmas movie. A shitty one. Holy fuck. I hated the male lead so much. I did want the couple to get together. Fuck this movie. 1/10

The Noel Diary: This is a real movie about Christmas. Well, the movie was based on a book. There is that. Adoption, broken families. It's not a fluffy movie, but I appreciate the effort in making something different. 6/10

White Christmas: This is a holiday classic. Never seen it. The movie is a bit too saccharine for me. The movie felt long. It was two hours, but the pacing was killing me. I stopped paying attention in the last thirty minutes. 5/10

Holiday Inn: I have heard about this movie. I also heard about an unfortunate sequence of blackface for the Abraham Lincoln's birthday celebration. Other than that, I enjoyed the movie. I wonder if the stage musical changed that in subsequent revivals. 8/10

Christmas Bloody Christmas: I wanted to see a Christmas horror movie. Oh, boy. I hated this movie so much. There was a shit ton of cuss words. It was overflowing with them. Fuck this, fuck that... The movie was not good. It was like a computer AI mixed The Terminator, Chopping Mall and Krampus into a blender and spat out the script to this. 2/10

Silent Night: I wanted to end Christmas with a dark comedy. This movie was not for me. I watched twenty minutes of it and shut it off to go bed. DNF

Weekly Rewind

The reviews are going to be infrequent in the coming weeks as I am in the process of moving. Be aware my fives of followers out there.

Bullet Train: I wanted to see a dumb action movie. This one fit the bill perfectly. So much so that I didn't care what was going on. I had no desire to review it, because I was barely paying attention. 4/10

Troop Beverly Hills: I don't know why it took me so long to watch this camp classic. Is it a great movie? No. Is it fabulous? Yes. 6/10

Another rewatch of Bros because I was under the weather.

The Northman (rewatch): I wanted to revisit this movie since reviewing it earlier this year. I didn't know that the story of Hamlet was inspired by this tale. 9/10

Weekly Rewind

During this time of the year, a lot of Oscar movies are coming out left and right. This list is from two weeks of viewing or rewatching.

Smile: I tried to watch this movie to see what the fuss was about. Umm... no. I think I had my fill with horror movies where a woman with insurmountable trauma is dealing with it and the people around thinks that she is crazy. I was done. I didn't finish it. I don't care. DNF

Knives Out (Rewatch): I watched this movie again to prepare myself for Glass Onion when it was released theatrically. It is still a solid whodunit. The right wing to borderline MAGA scenes made me uncomfortable. 8/10

Benediction: People were talking about this movie online. 'It's so great. You should watch it.' I tried to watch it. I was bored out of my mind seriously. I don't a flying fuck about a wartime poet in one of the World Wars. I was yawning at least six times during the forty minutes that I spent with this movie. I did not care to finish it nor will I. DNF

Bodies Bodies Bodies (Rewatch): After seeing the movie nominated for a couple Indie Spirit Awards, I have decided to revisit this movie. I guess when a certain character dies, I was checked out. It turns out to be a very pointed dark comedy/horror/satire about privilege. Original rating: 1/10. Now: 7/10

Triangle of Sadness (Rewatch): I wanted to see if I see think that the first act was still awful, the second act was better and the third is best. Still true. I still cannot believe that thirty minutes into the movie is dedicated to four separate fights about a fucking bill. Shaking my head. 6/10

The Bear (Season 1): Taking a break from watching mediocre movies, I wanted to see this series. People were saying that it was really good. They were right. A guy throwing to save his family sandwich shop is riveting TV. 9/10

Confess, Fletch: Back on the mind numbingly boring train again. Here is this movie. Yeah, Jon Hamm should not do comedy movies. This movie is like Mr. Bean, but he is talking unfortunately. The characters were bland. The plot was uninspired. It was background noise. I manage to finish it, but I didn't care to review it. Why bother? 2/10

Aftersun (Rewatch): After seeing the awards buzz with the movie, I wanted to revisit this movie. I didn't understand what was going on the first watch. Maybe I was in the wrong headspace for it. After doing some reading online, watching the movie the second opened my eyes like I have never seen before. Being someone who has social anxiety disorder and depression, I would have recognized that in the Calum character. Sophie is trying to figure out who her father was with the 'mask off." I did not not give it a fair chance. Original rating: 4/10. Now: 10/10

Weekly Rewind

This week has been emotionally draining. I think with the holidays coming up, the melancholy sets in. Usually when this happens, I would watch romantic comedies. Be prepared.

The Great Dictator: I have been meaning to see this movie. One of the very few talkies that Charles Chaplin had done. It was a searing look at the rise of Nazism, Hitler and the Third Reich. He was making fun of the ridiculous of following a megalomaniac. Chaplin's speech at the end was one of the greatest in cinematic history. There were parts of the movie where the joke was stretched too thin. 8/10

Barbarian (Re-watch): I have been getting in the habit of re-watching movies that I previously hated and see if my opinion changed. Seeing this on a re-watch, the tension of the first part of the movie was gone, because I knew what would happen. The movie is not scary. More disturbing. The shifting tones is still jarring to me. Previous rating: 1/10. Now: 5/10

Kate & Leopold (Re-watch): It has been a decade since I saw this movie. Every time, there are new questions. Hugh Jackman was so fucking charming in this movie. He wasn't playing Leopold as a misogynist nor a bigot. Cool. The last twenty minutes are still bonkers. 7/10

Enchanted (Re-watch): To prepare the possible mediocrity of Disney making unnecessary sequels or series of their properties, I had to revisit this. The charm is still there. Amy Adams as Giselle was so good. The downsides of the movie are Susan Sarandon and the climax of the movie. 8/10

Christmas in Connecticut: This movie was on TCM this week. I heard that people loved it. This movie is a comedy of errors than a Christmas movie. Barbara Stanwyck was delightful as ever. It was nice. It's a nice movie to watch without a convoluted plot getting in the way. 7/10

Disenchanted: Yeah. This movie pissed me off so much that I turned it off. How much time has past was in question? Was it ten years or fifteen? I hated Morgan in this movie. Just another obnoxious teenager trope that got old quick. Some characters traits from the first movie are completely forgotten in this movie. DNF

Bridget Jones's Diary (Re-watch): I was in my fool moods and I wanted some rom-com fluff. This is always there. Zellweger is great. Her gaggle of friends are hilarious. Grant as a cad was perfect. Firth as the love interest is the best. He is so charming. Where is my Mark Darcy? 8/10

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (Re-watch): I thought that I did not see this sequel. When I was watching it, I remembered bits of this. I caught this on cable over fifteen years ago. Oops. My mind. The charm that was in the first one is not present in this one. There is a whole subplot about Bridget in jail that went off the rails for me. 6/10

Bridget Jones's Baby: This is the only film in the series that I did not watch. Oh, dear. This movie is a trainwreck. Bridget finds out that she is pregnant. She doesn't know who the father is. Is it here on again/off again lover, Mark Darcy or is it the American billionaire mogul, Jack (Insert last name here)? Patrick Dempsey as Jack was odd, bordering on creepy stalker. The movie was more physical comedy that didn't work. I heard, there might a fourth movie in the works. Oh, no. 4/10

Review Rewind

Last week has been been an interesting week of movie viewing. Here are the movies that I watched this past week.

What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?: Holy shit. This movie is bonkers. Seeing two real-life adversaries in the same movie is something to behold. Bette Davis was acting her ass off in this. Joan Crawford did not get what the tone of the movie was supposed to be. 8/10

Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte: I might have been expecting this movie was going to be campy like WEHTBJ. No, this was a real movie. I didn't appreciate what was happening when I was watching it. It's a suspenseful thriller that deserves a second viewing. 6/10* (Rating my change upon re-watch.)

It: (Re-watch). I have not seen the movie since it was in theaters. I was intending to watch it during Halloween, but didn't. Seeing the movie at home made the movie less scary to me. The dynamic between the kids saved the movie from dropping my score lower. 7/10

It Chapter Two: Seeing the run time of the movie, I knew that it was going to be a slog. They were introducing the older versions of the characters from the first movie for the first 30 minutes and I had it. Montage that shit. I stopped watching it. DNF

Mommie Dearest: For years, I heard that this movie was horrible. It's not good. Faye Dunaway shot for the moon with her portrayal of Joan Crawford. The structure of the story felt like snapshots of what may or may not have happened to Christina, and her life with Joan as her adoptive mother. 4/10

Falling for Christmas: A Lindsay Lohan Christmas movie. Yes. I watched the movie and was immediately bothered by annoying characters, a recycled amnesia plot, lack of chemistry between Lohan and Chord Overstreet. This movie came out this year, but I didn't want to review it. Why bother? 5/10

Black Panther: (Re-watch). I wanted to revist this movie before I saw the sequel. It was still as good as I remembered it from my theater viewing. Great acting, action sequences and a fantastic villain. It earned that Best Picture nomination. 9/10

Nightcrawler: There was a lot Oscar buzz with Jake Gyllenhaal's performance in this movie and he didn't get the nom. It was shocking. This role is against type for him. An insomniac trying to get the big story in violent crime scenes around LA for money. He descends into a dark place that is fucked up. 8/10

Review Rewind

It's nice to enjoy watching movies again without reviewing every single movie that I have seen. These movies were intersperse between my previous reviews.

Sleepaway Camp: This is second re-watch of the movie this year. Every viewing I see something different that I didn't pick up on. This is a bad movie, but it's so bad that it turns out to be amazing. 10/10

X: After I watched Pearl, I wanted to revisit this movie. I hated the name last time, because the situations were very cliched. This time I kind of let my logical mind go. I liked the movie more of this latest viewing. My original score was 2. Now, it's 7/10.

Bringing Up Baby: I wanted to see the movie where Cary Grant was in a robe. It was this movie. It's not a laugh out loud funny. Katharine Hepburn's got too annoying for me with her running and rapid-fire ling delivery. 7/10

Bros: Another re-watch. I loved this comedy as much as I initially reviewed it. Still hate the steroid section. 9/10

Auntie Mame: Holy shit. What took me so long to watch this movie? Mame is so fabulous. Rosalind Russell gave it her all in this movie. I loved it. The only knocks I will give it is the middle section and the length of the movie. 2.5 hours. 9/10

Heartstopper (Season 1): After the whole "queerbaiting" accusations and Kit Connor forced coming out, I wanted to watch the series. Some "fans" of the show are missing the point of themes entirely. Nobody should have to tell a damn thing. You don't anyone an explanation about yourself. It sucks that this happened. It's stilling happening in 2022. I enjoyed the series, but I had a few problems with character motivations in the middle of the season. Any queer person or ally should see this show. 8.5/10

Roman Holiday: This movie was on my watch list for the longest time. I thought I was going to be enthralled with it, but I wasn't. The movie was boring. Didn't care about the romance. It was meh. I heard somebody say if you didn't appreciate this, you are a cynic. Yes. Yes, I am. 5/10

The Great Lie: I saw this movie a lot on Instagram. If you look up melodrama in the dictionary, this movie will be there. It's like a soap opera with a nonsense plot and uninteresting characters. I stopped paying attention to it and did another things while it was still going. 4/10

Review Rewind

I did it. I have finished my Best Picture Nominee blog-a-thon. It has been a journey. Sixty movies. That's a lot. I saw some great movie and terrible ones. I'm glad that I did it.

The Trial of the Chicago 7: I was confused because I thought this movie was about The Central Park Five. Oops. Anyway, the movie was perfectly fine. I think Aaron Sorkin has the tendency of stretching historical facts so much that you have to call it out when you watch the film. 6/10

Bridge of Spies:I could not be less interested in a movie. I didn't hate the movie, but it didn't need to be 2.5 hours long. Did Mark Rylance deserve the Oscar? No. Plain and simple. 5/10

Philomena: This movie broke my heart. The beginning of the movie was shaky. Diving deeper into the film, I was enthralled. Judi Dench was magnificent. Truly. I would see it again. 9/10

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close: The hate that I have for this movie is immeasurable. It's one of those emotionally manipulative movies that comes out during the holiday season. This movie was nominated for Oscars. Why? 1/10

Captain Phillips: If anybody followed the story of what happened to ship that boarded by Somali pirates, this movie would be incredibly boring. I knew the story. I knew the outcome. 6/10

Joker: This movie made me uncomfortable. Dealing with a character's mental illness and depression hit too close to home. The violence is graphic, but not gratuitous. 7/10

Roma: A story about a maid in Mexico City. She went through a lot in the movie. I never heard of Mixtec before this movie. 7/10

The Grand Budapest Hotel: I am not the biggest fan Wes Anderson movies. The quirky doesn't vibe with me. It had moments of that. I wish the structure of the story was more cohesive. There were a lot of characters. Taking place during three different time periods. Hearing the word "faggot" in the film made me recoil. 5/10

American Hustle: I purposely put this movie last, because DOR is a horrible human being. Do a quick goggle search. You'll see. This movie looked good. The wigs... the wigs were something. Jen Lawrence was crying... a lot. Not my vibe. 4/10

Review Rewind

I am cranking out these viewings of Best Picture nominees that I missed out. I believe I have 7 more to go. I want to talk about Tár, Triangle of Sadness, and The Banshees of Inisherin when they open wide on Friday. This blog-a-thon was more laborious than I thought. Here we go:

Nomadland: The 2020 Best Picture winner. The movie had some interesting concepts that should have been explored more. We get this woman driving. That's it. 7/10

The Post: This movie was dry. Sahara Desert dry. I didn't care about what was happening. The government covered up what happened in Vietnam. Cool. It wasn't compelling. Did anyone notice a big blur circle in the scene with Jesse Plemons and Bob Odenkirk? 5/10

Vice: I thought it was interesting take on Dick Cheney's life. I think Adam McKay's way of storytelling is not my vibe. People talking into the camera for no reason at all. 6/10

The Revenant: The world AGI created looked miserable, but some factual errors with the time and situations made me enjoy the movie less. The movie was too long. Cut a couple necessary characters. It would have been 5 stars. 8/10

Room: Going in, I know this movie going to be depressing. It was, but the movie has heart. It showed that a mother would do anything for her kid and vice versa. Brie Larson, Jacob Tremblay and Joan Allen were fantastic in the film. 9/10

Darkest Hour: The movie was literally dark with some nonsense light pouring in from windows. Gary Oldman was good. Some of the events in the movie made question why the screenwriters did that. 7/10

Green Book: The 2018 Best Picture winner. The ham-fisted message of a black man and white man facing prejudice was abundantly clear. I was wondering, why Dr. Shirley was that naive about Jim Crow or segregation? 6/10

Selma: I wanted to be inspired. I wanted to be moved. The feeling when you hear "Glory" at the end credits. I didn't feel it in this movie. 5/10

Minari: There was a disconnection with this movie. I was never a Korean boy in the 1980s. Some of the plot points in the movie, I saw a mile away. Really, movie? 4/10

Hell or High Water: The movie was not breaking new ground. I knew what was going to happen at the end, but some of the action set pieces carried the movie. 7/10

Brooklyn: I thought the main character's name was Brooklyn. Did I want to see a movie about a young woman moping around for two hours? No. 5/10

Hugo: Can somebody tell why a movie taking place in France have all the character in British accents? 4/10

The Descendants: Why are all the characters assholes? Seriously. There was some cringe dialogue in here. Like early 2000s problematic levels. I felt like the mother in the coma. This movie was not good. 3/10

The Theory of Everything: I thought it was a beautiful film. Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones gave solid performance. Michael Keaton should have won the Oscar instead. 8/10

Boyhood: The making of the movie was phenomenal. The biggest failure of the movie is Mason. The boy was supposed to be following. Who is he? You see fifteen minute increments of a year Frankenstein-ed together. There was so cohesive arc for him. The parents, yes. Not Mason. 6/10

The Irishman: This movie was bloated. It did not need to be 3.5 hours long. The chyrons are when characters in the movie get whacked was strange. The de-aging of character was jarring. Pacino and Pesci carried the movie. The first half of the movie was great. It drops like a body with cinder blocks on it in the second half. 4/10

Weekly Review Wrapup

This past week I wanted to watch the Best Picture Nominees that I missed. To this point, I have watched 35 of 55 that I set out to see. I am trying to get through the last movies before Oscar season ramps up. Here the ones that I watched:

Hacksaw Ridge: I did not want to have a movie spew Bible quotes at me. Be racist to Japanese people. Have disgusting gore effects. Have Doss be a creepy guy. I hated it. 2/10

The Big Short: Having a movie break the fourth wall, telling the audience about housing facts that we don't give a fuck about.  I didn't care. 4/10

Mank: Why do we need to see a movie about an alcoholic screenwriter? The movie was fine. Not memorable. 5/10

Bohemian Rhapsody: I have never hated a movie so much as I did with this movie. It was an affront to Freddie Mercury and his memory. Rami Malek won an Oscar for this? Really? It was just Malek wearing a flipper. Unacceptable. 1/10

1917: This movie was a masterpiece. It was carefully thought out. The way it was shot like a documentary. The long continuous takes. The mood, the music, atmosphere were spot on. I loved this movie. 10/10

Parasite: The only thing I knew about this movie was that it was a black comedy about a family infiltrating an affluent family. It's so much for than that. It's about the class system, economic disparity and so on. The tone was pitch perfect. 10/10

Lion: This kind of movie is one that I don't like. A Oscar baity movie about found family and convenient plot devices. Maybe, it's Dev Patel. I feel like I don't like his movies in general. 2/10

The Martian: Have you noticed a lot of astronaut movies between 2013 to now? Hmm. The movie was about survival on an alien planet. Matt Damon was very good. I enjoyed this very much. 8/10

American Sniper: The movie would have been more effective as a documentary rather than a feature length movie. It felt icky to me. The brave American soldiers against the "savages" (they were called that in the movie). I felt the disconnect. 4/10

Ford v Ferrari: I could not be more uninterested in a movie. This felt like a guy movie. Let's have 2.5 hour movie talking about cars. Yay. I think this is the movie that made me realize that I cannot take Christian Bale seriously as an actor anymore. It was boring. 5/10

Phantom Thread: I knew why this movie was nominated. It was DDL's last movie so let's give it these nominations. Is it a beautiful movie? Yes. The clothes were spectacular. The other parts of movie was meh. 3/10

War Horse: This was so long and torturous. I lost interest in it. It was background noise. It's one of these inspirational movies that caters to certain demographic, not me. 4/10

As I am writing this, I think I will only review movies from the current year, and have these recaps for older movies. Having to write full length reviews is demanding. I want to focus on the current year from now on.

Weekly Review Wrapup

The Father: BPN Catch Up. It delved into the mind of a man's suffering from extreme dementia. The Academy eats this shit up. 8/10

The Nice Guys: Full disclosure. I tried watching this movie once before, hated it and turned it off. Gave it another chance. I enjoyed it. Still think it is weird to show a 13-year-old a porn flick. 8/10

Raging Bull: I wanted to watch films from my birth year for my birthday. I expected more from this movie. I was bored to death with the boxing scenes that looked fake as hell. The second half of the movie was better. 5/10

The Mirror Crack'd: Clips of this movie were on YouTube with Kim Novak and Elizabeth Taylor throwing shade at each other. Just watch that. The mystery of the center of the movie was boring and unsatisfying. I fell asleep in the middle of the movie. 3/10

Coal Miner's Daughter: I was going to see this movie before I learned about Loretta Lynn's death. Do I want to watch a movie about a 13-year-old getting married to a guy in their 20s, having a baby at 14, picking up a guitar and singing? Not really. 6/10

Bros: It's sad that the movie is bombing at the box office. This movie was enjoyable. It poked fun at the hyper-masculine mindset ingrained in the gay community. Bros being bros, bro. 9/10

Don't Worry Darling: Going into this movie, I knew it was going to be garbage. I was right. It was derivative. The "twist" was stupid. 4/10

Blue Jasmine: Not even Cate Blanchett's masterful performance can save this weak movie from fading into the background. 6/10

Blood Simple: A taut and suspenseful noir with a fantastic score and unsettling atmosphere. The motivations of the characters were unclear to me that hurt the movie. 8/10

Hacksaw Ridge: BPN Catch Up. This is not the kind of movie that I vibe with. I don't bible quotes thrown at me. I don't want blatant racism of the Japanese. The gore was too much to handle for me. Enough was enough. 2/10

Weekly Review Wrapup

Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris: This seemed like a feel good movie. The plot made no sense. The clothes were fabulous. That what kept me watching. 6/10

Judas and the Black Messiah: BPN Catch Up. Watching this and BlacKkKlansman close together made me not enjoy this movie. It was a head scratcher that LaKeith Stanfield was nominated for Supporting Actor. 6/10

Blonde: I have never hated a movie so much and I did with this. I don't understand who was this movie made for. It is not a biopic. Was it supposed to be a character study about abuse, sexual assault and anti-abortion? Terrible film. 1/10

Niagara: To wash the taste of that movie out of my mouth. I wanted to visit some MM movies. This noir film was not much of one. It was a thriller with a botched murder. I wished that Rose's motive was more clear. 6/10

The Misfits: Being Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe's last full length features, it was nice note to go out on. It's about for unlikely people hanging out. I didn't understand the relationship with Gay and Rosyln. The last thirty minutes were strange. 7/10

The Asphalt Jungle: Monroe has a very small part in this crime noir. The caper was fine. I thought Sterling Hayden delivery was wooden. Sam Jaffe was the only reason to keep watching it. 6/10

Little Women (2019): Another BPN Catch Up. This is the first time that I have watched one of these movies. I liked the movie. The narrative felt a bit choppy. I didn't know if I was in mid-Civil or post-Civil War, except for Jo's hair. 7/10

Hocus Pocus 2: Was there need for a sequel? No. Is this Disney's way of needlessly rebooting long dormant franchises? Yes. 5/10

Imitation of Life (1959): Being that this was Douglas Sirk's last feature length film, he went out on a good note. The central conflict of movie dragged on. I understood, but it felt one note. 8/10

Review Catch Up

Hello to the fives of you reading this, I'm getting a little burned out writing full length reviews. I'm going to give short reviews weekly until I feel better to make longer reviews again.

Here are the movies that I watched last week:

Her: As part of my BP Movie Catch Up series. I thought the concept of the movie was nice, but then I got really bored. 4/10

Purple Hearts: Heard the controversy with this movie. Yeah, it tries to Nicholas Sparks, but failing on every single level. A right wing soldier and a "liberal" singer/songwriter. Yeah, no. 3/10

Rewatched Everything Everywhere All at Once. I love the movie bumped up my rating from 9 to 10/10. Favorite movie of the year as of this writing.

Hidden Figures: BP Catch Up. I really liked the movie. It seems that the screenwriters made the dialogue too "feel good" that as no one would say that. I didn't get why Octavia Spencer was nominated over Taraji. 7/10

Promising Young Woman: BP Catch Up. I didn't hear much about the movie. I thought it was something completely different. I understood that it was a satire about gender politics, but the main character's obsession with revenge hampered my enjoyment of it. 7/10

mother!: Wanted to finish watching Darren Aronofsky's filmography. The allegory is the film was obvious. Hitting you over the head with it. 6/10

Noah: The last movie of Aronofsky's movie. I'm familiar was some stories of the bible, but when did the Earth have rock monsters. I was bored. 4/10

Leave Her to Heaven: Gene Tierney gave a performance in this movie. The story overall was lackluster and boring. 3/10

Barbarian: I need to stop getting my hopes up with movies people praise on Twitter. Another boring movie with a disjointed plot. 1/10

The Invitation: This was like Get Out with a female lead. I guess it was a factor for me enjoying the movie for what it was. 7/10

The Woman King: The controversy with the movie is warranted, but it addressed through the film. It is history accurate? No. Is it entertaining as hell? Absolutely. It was bogged down with a soap opera subplot and pointless romance. 8/10

The Night House: This spooky psychological thriller fucks with your head. I was with it until the last twenty minutes were it lost me. 8/10
